who/what

Do any of us really know who we are.?
If we try hard, we can share a bit,
in places where we lived and roamed.
And leave some nice traces,
on the biggest blockchain of all,
which is History .

I feel a kind of OG connection to much of that which recently passed as Art in the crypto/NFT space. Going back to the late 80’s, I pioneered a large body of Computer Graphics imagery which was published round the world..

My work back then was created with hybrid techniques, while CG was the exclusive product of million dollar mainframes – shattered conservative design mores of the day. These images which achieved high visibility at the time, could be said to have actually launched the CG genre, world wide – specifically, into the print advertising/editorial media mainstream.

As the first CG/photo designer dip my toe into the ‘stills’ pond and then to make a major splash, I can probably claim OG status for that retro work seemingly justifies a level of historic status in the space,

In the late 80’s I appear to be the only photographer on the planet working with a range of custom optical rigs and image making methods. Later it seems, in the world of pro advertising photography, I was the first and only pro image maker doing hands-on 3D CGI in combination with lens captured images.

I continue to produce a wide variety of art from 3D CGI/photographic hybrid, to traditional pen and ink, to gimmick free gallery-style/documentary photography.

I enjoy looking back but I am much more interested in producing new cutting edge, artworks, many of which are dedicated to the digital realm – still including ‘loops’ or ‘moving stills’, simply because I like them.
